Our Story
The Church of Christ in Grenada
In October 1969, Brother Earnest Roberts — a graduate of the Caribbean Christian College, Dominican by birth — and his wife Eden Roberts came to the island of Grenada, sharing the Gospel of Christ through energetic evangelism. The first recorded baptism was Aaron Setthal in December 1969, and many soon began to follow the way of Christ.
Through door-knocking evangelism and Bible correspondence courses, the Gospel went out in a mighty way. Congregations grew across the nation — worshipping in homes and community centres until, through the gifts and sacrifices of brethren at home and abroad, church buildings were raised. Over the years, ten congregations were established throughout Grenada.
The Grand Anse Church of Christ, at Mont Toute, was started by Evangelist Leroy George; its present evangelist is David McQueen. Built on the Foundation of the Word, we hold carefully to the Scriptures as the complete and inspired guide (2 Timothy 3:16–17), abiding in the faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
“Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” — Ephesians 3:21
